On July 7, 2020 we had our 20–week ultrasound to do an anatomical scan and see Baby’s development. We were relieved to learn that Baby had 10 fingers, 10 toes, a healthy beating heart, working lungs, growing brain, and all other organs were on track as well! The ultrasound technician wrote down Baby’s sex, sealed it in an envelope, we promptly handed off that secret envelope to our neighbor (a very good friend), who then purchased the appropriate color confetti canons. On July 11, we gathered with some of our closest family and friends to learn Baby Bularz’s sex with a “bee” themed BBQ reveal!

My answers to the Old Wive’s Tales were split down the middle, whether I’d be having a boy or a girl. Our friends and family were also split about 50/50 on their thoughts too. I’m not sure why, but I felt so sure that we were having a baby boy. My instincts then convinced Noah to strongly believe we were having a boy too. Between the two of us, we 10000% expected to see blue confetti go off.
I think I’ve watched this video at least 500 times. We were so genuinely surprised and absolutely elated to find out we were having a baby girl. I obviously would have been over the moon if Baby was a boy, but I’ve always hoped that some day I’d have a daughter too. I had no idea that Noah wanted to have a little girl so badly — and his reaction in this video and in these pictures give me so much joy.
I can’t wait to meet this sweet baby girl!
