I always envisioned my first pregnancy as magical as the movies. I couldn’t wait to hear the heartbeat together with my husband for the very first time. I imagined us holding hands and saying things like, “oh my gosh, that’s actually the baby on the screen!”. However, because of Covid-19, Noah wasn’t allowed at any of my prenatal appointments at all. I actually felt kind of sad about missing out on an experience that I had always looked forward to, and truthfully, it really bummed Noah out too.
A friend of mine suggested that I get a private ultrasound done and recommended Peek a Baby Boutique in downtown Stillwater, Minnesota. Peek a Baby Boutique offers 2D, 3D & 4D images of your sweet baby at an affordable price, and your significant other is allowed to go with you. I wanted to be able to experience an ultrasound session with Noah so badly, so I was really excited about this being an option! I reached out to Tasha for more information, to learn what week of pregnancy would be the best for images, discussed my concerns with Covid and safety, and ultimately booked an appointment for when I was 28 weeks pregnant.
Tasha is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer and the owner of Peek a Baby Boutique. Not only does she run this business, but she also works full time in maternal fetal medicine. So you know she’s professional and amazing at what she does! Her studio is a beautiful, relaxing environment with gorgeous décor and adorable furniture. It’s incredibly clean in there; safety is Tasha’s top priority!
Together, for the first time, Noah and I got to see Baby B gulping amniotic fluid, hiccupping, yawning, playing with her hands & umbilical cord, putting her hands in her mouth & even got a video of her smiling!!

Your ENTIRE session is recorded and uploaded to an online account (also an app version for your phone) called BabyFlix. There, you will also see all of the photos that were snapped and the mini videos that were captured.
Honestly, I originally didn’t even care about the 3D/4D aspect of the session (I just wanted the experience with Noah) but I have got to say that I am SO so happy we got the 3D/4D images. There is truly nothing like it. Ever since that day, I felt a stronger bond and connection with my little unborn baby and I became even more excited to meet her. If you’re on the fence about getting 3D/4D ultrasound imaging while pregnant: DO NOT HESITATE TO DO IT! I promise, you will not regret it! It’s the coolest thing ever and we will cherish these photos and videos for a lifetime 
ALSO, it’s really fun to compare a picture from your ultrasound to a picture of your sweet babe when they actually arrive!
After your session, you have the option to have a recording of your baby’s heartbeat placed in a stuffed animal. Though we didn’t opt to do this, we did take advantage of all the cute baby clothes and accessories that Tasha has in her boutique and purchased a few adorable items for our baby girl. Overall, this experience was an unforgettable one. I’m so so incredibly glad that we chose to do this, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be back to see Tasha at Peek a Baby Boutique for future pregnancies.
