Now that my baby girl is finally here, my arms are full and my heart has truly never been fuller. I feel oddly empty inside – physically – though. My body misses the feeling of her inside my womb, growing and moving. In fact, I’ve even experienced some phantom baby kicks in the spots where she moved the most. I knew I’d miss my baby bump, but I never thought I’d miss it so much. I often place my hand over my deflated belly, missing what it felt like. I’m so so glad that I have these beautiful photos from Kate’s Photography to cherish forever! I find myself looking at them all the time, reminiscing the little miracle inside me.
We originally booked this session with Kate as a “Fall Maternity Shoot”. I decided on the most beautiful maternity gown from Sexy Mama Maternity. I was able to provide custom measurements to ensure a perfect fit. It was tailored to my size and delivered to me quickly, with plenty of time before the shoot. For Noah, I had him wear a nice neutral sweater to compliment my dress. In true Minnesota fashion, Mother Nature decided to gift us with some wet, heavy snow just days before the shoot. In a panic, I urgently Amazon Primed a faux fur shawl to change our look from “fall” to “winter”. I’m not kidding when I say my shawl arrived 30 minutes before we had to leave to meet with Kate!!
